Your optimized eight-semester course map
Each block combines Fall + following Winter or Spring + following Summer. The block cap is a course count, not approval for an overload. Courses are not guaranteed in accelerated terms.
Advising tools · progress and scenario planning
These tools use the same modeled courses and scheduling rules. Simulations never change saved progress. Advisor confirmation is required for credit equivalencies and course offerings.
What-If Simulator
Preview the next plan if a required course is missed or an entire semester is not completed. Your actual record stays unchanged.
Accepted transfer, AP, or IB credit
Mark a mapped requirement as satisfied only after JU has approved its equivalency. It is not treated as a new JU course.
Course timing preference
Ask the planner to place a flexible elective or Core slot in a preferred semester. It will never override prerequisite or seasonal rules. Preferences are not guaranteed.
Advisor handoff
Save a JSON snapshot with your degree progress, mapped credit, and course load. An advisor can import the same snapshot.
JSON files may contain student course histories. Share privately; never post them publicly.
PROPOSED ADVISING PLAN — NOT AN OFFICIAL DEGREE AUDIT OR GUARANTEE OF COURSE AVAILABILITY.
Ask AI · Finance Course Planning Helper
Private · Works offline · Rules-basedAsk a question in plain English about the current Finance map. This local helper explains the modeled rules and your progress; it does not connect to a generative AI service, send data to a server, approve exceptions, or change your schedule. For scenario testing, use the separate What-If Simulator.
Additional courses actually passed in this block
Choose an unscheduled requirement you finished early, or type a different JU / transfer course. Winter is counted within the Fall block and Summer within Spring. An unrecognized course is recorded but does not automatically replace a degree requirement.
How the optimizer works
It recalculates after each semester block, not only after each year. Priority 1: complete by the earliest eligible term; 2: unlock prerequisites; 3: balance courses; 4: avoid extra semesters. It keeps passed courses fixed and tests 100 heuristic candidate schedules, prioritizing completion by senior spring, prerequisite chains, and steady course loads. FIN 305 is fall-only; FIN 420 is spring-only; FIN 435 is not scheduled before senior spring. After eight blocks, it shows only remaining courses and possible next Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer choices.
